Most meteorites that hit the earth's surface are found in desert regions. The fragment of meteorite here shows the typical Widmanstatten pattern of crystalised iron, caused by extremely slow cooling of the meteorite. Tektites are heat-fused sand thrown into the air and rapidly cooled. Dichroic glass was originally developed for the space industry.  All three meet in this necklace.
